LoL Worlds 2026 schedule: knockouts start at 11pm CET

Worlds 2026 is played in North America, with knockout matches starting at 11pm in Paris. Fans in Europe follow differently, and demand changes shape with them.

The 2026 League of Legends World Championship runs in North America from 15 October to 14 November: Los Angeles for the Play-In, Allen, Texas, for the Swiss stage, quarterfinals and semifinals, then Brooklyn's Barclays Center for the final. Karmine Corp is playing its first Worlds, qualified as the LEC's third seed from the summer, and starts in the Play-In.

For a European audience, and for French fans of Karmine Corp in particular, the time difference reorganises everything. The matches that matter most start when part of the fan base is already asleep.

LoL Worlds 2026 schedule in Central European Time

Converted from the announced start times (Pacific time or UTC), each day begins at:

  • Play-In, 15 to 18 October: 8pm. Four teams, double elimination, best-of-five only, one Swiss stage spot.
  • Swiss stage, 23 to 31 October: between 6pm and 9pm depending on the day.
  • Quarterfinals and semifinals, 3 to 8 November: 11pm.
  • Final, 14 November: 8pm.

Europe leaves summer time on the night of 24 to 25 October, in the middle of the Swiss stage. Some published schedules still show summer time for late October, one hour off. That alone is a reason to search “what time”.

When the schedule shifts, demand changes shape

An 8pm match gets watched live. A best-of-five starting at 11pm on a weeknight ends after midnight. Part of the audience does not watch it, or not all of it: they catch up. Demand does not disappear. It moves in time and changes object.

Search makes this visible. Around a late match, queries are less about the live broadcast than about everything around it:

  • the start time (“worlds 2026 schedule”, “karmine corp match time”) in the days before;
  • the result and the highlights, the next morning;
  • the replay, when the outcome makes the match worth watching;
  • where to watch, official channel or co-stream, for those discovering the competition through Karmine Corp.

These forms carry different weight the day before, on the night and the morning after. They map to different audiences: the core that stays up, the follower who catches up, the newcomer drawn by a French club's run. Live viewership only sees the first.

What this means for broadcasters and brands

An activation built around the live broadcast targets the moment when the widest audience is not in front of the screen. A message aired at midnight reaches the core, already won over. The follower arrives the next day, through a recap, a clip, a search. It is the same mechanism described for Formula 1: a broader audience that does not behave like the core (F1: converting Drive to Survive viewers).

For a broadcaster, the question becomes: what share of demand shifts to replays and short formats, and when does it arrive? For a brand: where is the audience the morning after, and what is it asking? Other highlights of the season, such as the Esports World Cup in Paris, read the same way, and are gathered in the esports category.

For a broadcaster or brand activating during Worlds, the concrete decision is to split the plan across three windows (the day before, the live match, the morning after) according to what the audience searches for in each, rather than concentrating everything on start time. Searches for schedule, highlights and replay give that split day by day from the Play-In onwards, which leaves time to adjust it before the knockout stage.

Frequently asked questions

What time are Worlds 2026 matches in Europe?
In Central European Time, days start at 8pm for the Play-In (15 to 18 October), between 6pm and 9pm for the Swiss stage (23 to 31 October), at 11pm for the quarterfinals and semifinals (3 to 8 November) and at 8pm for the final on 14 November.
Where is Worlds 2026 being played?
In North America, from 15 October to 14 November. The Play-In is held at the Riot Games Arena in Los Angeles, the Swiss stage, quarterfinals and semifinals in Allen, Texas, and the final at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Is Karmine Corp playing at Worlds 2026?
Yes, for the first time in its history. The club qualified on 5 September as the LEC's third seed from the summer and starts in the Play-In, from 15 to 18 October in Los Angeles: four teams, best-of-five series, one spot in the Swiss stage.
Why do late start times matter to broadcasters and brands?
Because they move demand. Part of the audience will not watch live a match that ends after midnight: they look up the result, highlights or replay the next day. An activation built only around the live broadcast misses that audience.
